How do I get a good scan?

Printed lists work best. Lay the sheet flat in good light and keep the whole list in the picture.

After the scan, Yo Bro shows you what the camera read. Check it, and fix any word it got wrong in the editor before you start practising.

Can I import a list from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Save the list as a CSV file and choose Import a CSV in Yo Bro.

• The first line holds the two language codes, like en,nl.
• Every line after that has two columns: the word, and what it means.
• Columns can be separated by commas, semicolons or tabs.

How do I share a list with a friend?

Open the list and choose Share as QR code. Your friend scans the code with Yo Bro and gets the whole list. The list travels inside the code itself, so no internet is needed.

How does a battle work?

All phones need to be on the same Wi-Fi. One phone hosts the battle from one of its lists and shows a QR code; the others scan it to join and pick an animal. Joining is always free.

Phones can’t find each other? Check that everyone is on the same Wi-Fi network and not on mobile data. On iPhone and iPad, Yo Bro needs permission to use the local network: you’ll find it in Settings, under Yo Bro. Some school and guest networks keep devices apart; if so, try another network, such as a phone’s personal hotspot.

I bought the unlock. How do I get it back?

On the unlock screen, tap Restore a purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) or Google account you bought it with.

Are my lists backed up?

No. Your lists live only on your phone: there is no account and no copy on a server. If you delete the app, the lists are deleted with it.

To keep a copy of a list, print it: the printed sheet has a code that scans the whole list back in. Or share it to another phone with a QR code.

Can my child buy the unlock without asking?

Not if you set it up that way. With Ask to Buy (part of Apple’s Family Sharing) or Google Family Link, a parent has to approve a purchase first. The app waits, and unlocks by itself as soon as you approve.
